WORKSHOP DESCRIPTIONS:

Session 1

All the tools of the Kingdom – Sikes
In this class you will be shown how to use balloons, puppets, music, singing, object lessons, storytelling and more for Christ.

Session 2

Gospel Magic . . . Not in Our Church! – Sikes
Some churches prefer the term “Illusion” or “Object Lesson” because that is EXACTLY what it is. You will learn how to use God’s Word with any store bought trick. It can be a powerful tool for the Lord! Let’s make it...funny & Spirit filled!

Performance Pizzazz – Harrington
Put the “pizzazz” back into your puppet performance. This hand-on class will show you how to use puppets, props and special effects to get the message across in a “BIG” way.

Beginning Puppetry – Rhoades
A fun class of basic puppet skills for the wide-mouth puppet. Learn entrances, exits, mouth movement and more. Bring a puppet if you have one – if not – we’ll loan you one!

Basic Ventriloquism – Varosky
You'll learn the secret of ventriloquism and basic ventriquial skills. If you already have a vent character make sure to bring it along! Diana takes the “mystery” out of vent!

Themed Events – Martin
Decorating and planning to the “MAX” – start with your “inspiration” and take it to the extreme. Deb will show you how to make that event “The Perfect Occasion!”

Session 3

Interactive Puppetry – Rhoades
This fun-filled class will show you how to incorporate live puppetry and human interaction into your performances. Plenty of ideas and examples will be found in the antics of “Puppets for the King.”

The King’s Three-Rings – Harrington
Do you feel like Children’s Church can become like a three-ring-circus? This class will help you to bring children into the “center-ring” of God’s love - using puppets, praise and participation - all with a “circus” theme!

Clown Costuming – Kuhr
Whether you are a new clown or a seasoned clown - learn the in’s and out’s of looking your best for the King!

Face Painting Demo – Martin
Elevating face painting to the highest level! There’s much more to painting than you think! Learn about brushes, paints, individual and full-face techniques, tips for crowd control.

Basic Balloons – Evans
Learn to start from the very beginning “This is a balloon and this is what it does” or “doesn’t do!” Learn some simple twists that create really cute stuff.

Session 4

Hands-On Interactive Puppetry – Rhoades
More fun antics with “Puppets for the King!” Those of you that participated in Interactive Puppetry 1 will get the privilege of being “on stage” performing with the puppets! If you missed the first class you can still come and enjoy watching what transpires between puppets and humans!

Gospel Storytelling – Miler/Martin
Spitunia and Mark the Magician will creatively share Bible stories, accompanied by colorful imaginative effects.

Spiritual Development for Children – Meeneghan
In this class you will learn what is “age appropriate” when it comes to teaching children the Gospel. We’ll explore how to “paint a visual picture” of the Bible and make it come alive for children of all ages.

Advanced Balloons – Evans
To attend this class you must have more experience than just the previous Beginning Balloon Class. Mike will demonstrate multiple balloon creations that will amaze you!

Sight Gags and Walk-around – Long
An easy laugh is sometimes the best laugh. Peachey Keene will show you how to use sight gags and share with you some of his favorite walk-around routines.
